The other day that man was found dead, From drowning in the river, Or so they said. He always liked swimming upriver, His whole life he was strong, They said he caught a shiver, And it became too much for him after long. I went to his funeral, the dead man, Standing with dark cloaks and black lace, He looked like he was smiling, Like a last joke made in poor taste. I heard him speak, the dead man, But no others heard a sound, A small breath in a loud world, And his voice was never found. "My whole life, I was struggling, and no one ever saw a thing.
